Loved this one too . So reminiscent. Had same experience and don’t think we ever discussed this one. We had a “black”couple show up at our church during this same period of time. Had 2 kids with them and sat very close to front. Before long several ushers appeared, spoke to them and proceeded to escort them out of the sanctuary. I left that day too and never went back. Keep on being who you are. The person I know hasn’t gone anywhere. Just evolved . Memory lane…….

My do I remember all this well. We didn’t make it home from Erwin in the allotted time and we had a fully stocked bomb shelter (complete with many windows covered in plastic) in our basement. I was terrified. Really enjoyed the memory
